Local metal fab shop to weld up a faux cap that looks similar

Else gear up for a long long search

Those type caps are rare as hens teeth, mainly because they have that handle and guys use them as tie downs which will break the cast Al.

When I restored the boat this past year, I noticed it was a bit tricky torquing down the transom caps - I probably had a bad angle on the drilled transom holes… Anyway, it finally “popped”! Being 50 years old doesn’t help, I’m sure…

If you kept busted 1, make it easier for a fab shop to recreate it

Have the busted one welded up at your local radiator shop for about $20

Thank you for all the suggestions! I think I’ll try my local fab shop first to fix the break if possible… for some reason, I assumed that cast aluminum wasn’t repairable - happy to learn that it might be! If that doesn’t work, I guess my fall back will be a set of aftermarket cast aluminum replacements w/ handles, but I’d rather avoid dropping $200 on it. I’m not looking for exact original or perfection, but I’d like both sides to at least match. I’ll follow up on this thread with whatever my ultimate solution ends up being…

I can't able to understand your issue can you provide more information? Need more detail to fix this.
Do you not understand the OPs issue with aa broken corner cap, or do you have aa similar issue and you are hijacking a thread?

Well, it took me a while, but I finally got my repaired transom cap back from the fab shop - I’m really happy with it, and appreciate all the suggestions. $30 bucks, and a bit of a wait, and I’m back in action with the original part!
