Seacast Composite Transom, any good??

I am in the process of replacing the transom on my '86 skeeter. I have removed the motor and the center part of the transom is completely rotten.
I have heard of a product called seacast and I am curious if anyone has used it. If so how did it work? The inner and outer fiberglass shell seem to be in goog shape on my boat. I am going to remove the top of the boat to access the transom.
From what I read about seacast you just dig out the old wood and pour in a new transom. Is it that simple or am I missing something?

I'd be interested in this as well..

I was toying with the idea of doing my transom as well, and in my case that revolves around cutting the outside layer out, replacing the ply and then reglassing it, as well as painting afterwards...

If there is an alternative, I'd love to know about it.

regards

Frank

Hey Saperry,
Just replaced my transom on 1990 stratus 201 pro (21 feet) with seacast. Yes it is that simple to use (almost to easy). I have a opti max 200 hanging on there (534 lbs) & that transom is solid. There is a couple of diff ways to get wood out. Shoot me a e mial and I can probably offer some advice to help. Also people at seacast can & will answer your questions very helpful.

finadic@bellsouth.net
