hit a sand bar today and could not get it to start after that had to get towed 8 mils back wont do that again but my problem is when I was turning it over it spits gas out the top of the carp it a 3.0 mercruiser alpha1 drive manual fuel pump it looks like every time the it pumps gas is when it spit out the top could I of flooded it that bad?

Do you have spark? Sounds like you have fuel.
Did you get any water come back into the engine?
Are the spark plugs wet with fuel?

did not check for spark at the lake to much gas fumes was scared to check
it might have not sure if water came back into the engine how can I tell?
pulled a plug when we got back home did not looked soaked

this just happed today have a couple of pics will post

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,... The needle valve or float or Something got Trashed,...

Pull the carb, 'n take it apart to See....

it was spitting gas out the top of the carp like there was not carb and every time the fuel pumped it splashed out well cranking the motor wish I could take a video put it too late and will need another hand

Did you take the sight tube off and make sure the fuel pump diaphragm isn't ruptured. If you have fuel pumping out of that sight tube during cranking the fuel pump is bad.

no did not do much investigating yet but any info on stuff I should check I am all ears wont be able to mess with it for a few days unless I get off early 1 day this week

Did you take the sight tube off and make sure the fuel pump diaphragm isn't ruptured. If you have fuel pumping out of that sight tube during cranking the fuel pump is bad.
I was wondering the same thing.

yup gas coming out from sight tube when cranking so looks like I will be starting off with a fuel pump I hope that's it I also notice some hair line cracks in the transom how bad is this
