sail emblem identification

What class has an emblem on the sail that looks similar to a "rising sun", or like the top half of a Laser marking?

The boat is sloop rigged, it's about 16' loa, swing-down centerboard, mast is 22'-24' long. The boat is wooden, with a canvas deck. However, I don't know what is original and what was added. The only identification is the sail marking as described above. Any ideas?
