Mythbusters just tested that. They used two backhoes and it does work to row a barge with a backhoe.

I design attachments for excavators....there is no end to the creativity of some excavator operators......I've seen it all. I think that video may be sped up just a tad, but oops is right....bet he was a little dizzy.

Don't know where it is, but thats definitely not the George Washington Bridge or NYC.

Pretty common actually for a dredge barge. Most the time they are just moving from dredge spot to dredge spot. See it all the time on the ohio moving around in marinas and such.

I run shovel and other equipment for a living and I would love to get into dredging. I live around the 1000 islands area and see some company's out doing it.

I Would love working on the water everyday. It would combine my two favorite things.
