Golden Eagle Co. offered me 303 Multi Surface Cleaner and 303 Fabric Guard to sample and review for absolutely zero charge. And I mean zero charge, no duty, brokers fees, shipping, free!!!! A week back I received 3@750ML of 303 Multi-Surface Cleaner and a 3.75 litre jug of 303 Fabric Guard for my 18 foot long by 9 foot wide Sunbrella Mooring cover. This cover is now 22 years old. I was looking for an alternative to other "Water proofing" products on the market as they aren't exactly cheap.
I thought the cover was dirty, I was wrong it was filthy as I hadn't given it a good scrubbing for a few years. The boat sits under many large trees and birds love trees and target boat covers. I was sceptical that the 303 cleaner would do as well as my go to cleaner since 1980, Spray 9. I thoroughly wet the tarp and sprayed a small section of 303 cleaner to test it for colour fastness. I got myself a 1.5 mini sprayer for 10 bucks and poured the bottIe into that to apply. When I started scrubbing I was producing a green black slime. No way I thought this cover would ever be clean again. I struggled doing it on the lawn so decided to spread it out on the concrete driveway. I gave it a good soaking and then applied the 303 Multi-Surface cleaner on 1/3 of the tarp thinking it will take all 3 spray bottles. I let it soak in for 5 minutes before scrubbing then starting from one end to the other hit it with the small electric power washer, 1700 PSI. I could see the cover was actually Royal blue not blue brown. It only took me 2 bottles to clean it well. I drapped it over the box of my truck and it dried with a few hours. The next morning I spot cleaned by hand some spots I missed with the 303 and let it dry. I can't say it is better than Spray 9 but it is as good for sure I really didn't think could equal Spray 9.
Then when it was completely dry I washed out the sprayer well with soap and water. I filled the sprayer with the 303 Fabric Guard and soaked the cover in it. I didn't do the outside edges that drape over the boat until I was sure I had enough. It took the entire 3.75 lt. jug to get all the nooks, cranny's and folds completely wet. It just came up short to do the edges as I probably over wet the centre. It could have been ample. It recommends you let dry for 12 to 16 hours and early this morning it was dry. So after watering the plants I gave it a shot of water from the hose. Water repelled off of it like it was waxed.
I am one happy Canuck this morning folks. It sure looks like it works as that water rolled off of it in beads.
The only think I may add is that there are no instructions as to use the 303 Multi-Surface-Cleaner. If that is the only issue I can find I'm nit picking.
Thank you so much Golden Eagle Co. You impressed me with the generosity and your products and I have a new cover. Hopefully the Fabric Guard holds up. I'm sure it will.
Where can I get the Fabric Guard here in Southern Ontario? My wife wants to do the Sunbrella Patio Furniture fabrics.
Thank you again,
