get the old one out there is a clip on the inside feed new wires thru put some weather strip adhisive or aviation permatex on the gromet and lightly pull do not pull it past the lip. push the old pins from wire conector and put new ones in. attach sender to gimbal ring and adjust. if clip wont go back on which it is hard to touch let alone see no big deal, with the sealer it wont go any where. was the trim wire attached to a trim line on the transom plate? if so put a new tie back on. do not tie the wire tight just enough of a circle to hold it out of the way. on the inside make sure wire is out of the way of steering. tie it back

Thanks for the info.

On the inside of the boat
What does the connector look like (feel like if I can see...)? Where is it located?

I guess I should attach something to the connector before i pull the old one out?

Yup... re tiewarps... the problem was caused because the factory put two tiewraps on and didn't leave any slack in the cable.

you can do it in 1/2 hr. get to rear of engine from inside boat look for a 2 wire(black) going to the transom bracket just abouve steering usualy the wire is tied to the water intake hose to keep it out of the way. when you remove the sender from atachment point turn the drive as doing a hard left follow it up, see it at the top? sometimes you will have to poke something into it to losen glue i use a long flat head screw driver small dia. then pull on the wire easy do not pull the wires from rubber. if you do just take screw driver and push the rubber plug to the inside of boat. then do as describen in first post.
