I’m replacing my transom on my 14ft MirroCraft and i’ve found a crack at the bottom of one of the bolt holes that mounts the transom to the back of boat . I’m thinking of drilling a small hole at the end of the crack and filling the crack with JB weld and maybe sandwiching some checker plate i have to both sides at the rear of boat . is this the right way to fix my problem
Also i’m looking at putting a floor in my boat with Aluminum Angle and bringing it up a little higher . is it a bad idea to drill holes in the side of hull and attach angle brackets with closed end rivets to attach my floor framing. I’m worried with the boat flexing over time something bad might happen
