Hi I was just curious if anyone knows if it's possible to repair pontoons from pontoon boats? Taking dents out etc. And if so what is the best way of doing this? Any info would be great. Thanks

Re: repairing pontoons?

The only way I have ever found to get dents out is with a slide hammer(dent puller) then fill the hole in and sand down the weld spot.

This only works on smaller dents though, the really big ones you have to drill too many holes adn ther repair can look worse than the dents, it is like doing body work with no bondo or paint, very tricky.

If I were you I would just live with the dents, you can get into trouble pretty easy, especially below the water line, lake scum doesn't weld very well and you are more likely to create leaks.

If you have a crack or leak those of coarse can be welded if you can find someone that tig welds.

I work in the weld shop at Bennington Marine so I have alot of experience with this.
