I work on boats in my spare time and a friend has a 350 Chevy with a Volvo 280 outdrive. I dont have much experience on the Volvo's. I want to replace the engine. I guess my question is, what is the procedure on removing the outdrive. Thanks

Dwayne, You don't have to pull the whole drive, only the upper part.Basically, drain oil, pull 2 bolts,2 nuts, and it will come off.Dicconnect bellows). Now you can get at 6 bolts that hold the bell housing to the transom.Support motor first.I suggest at least a Clymer manual to keep you out of trouble. <br />DHP

Thanks DHP for the info. It will be Monday before I dig into it. We are getting a late winter storm here in southern VA and its to cold to be working on boats, shop heater is broke. Thanks again
