Hello all I have a 1973 Bowrider type boat it has the metal tanks. I wanted to cut them out since they are rusted I have been using a plastic tank in the middle. I also wanted to plastic storage bins in their place. My question is , will it hurt the structure of the boat if I was to cut a access door on the top of the boat where the tanks vents were, to make a hinged storage door entry.

Boats normally don't have a lot of extra parts on them so whatever you cut into is structure. Whether or not your boat can handle that loss is anyone's guess. Unless someone has the same boat and has done the same thing no one can give you a good answer other than don't do it.
