Recoil repair

I have a 1990 15 hp and I wanted some help ordering the correct part for my recoil. My order recoil pulls freely but won’t go up. What do I need to order to repair this? Thanks in advance and have a great day

Wire spring under plastic pinion gear must be in the skinny groove on bottom side of pinion gear to get the tension when pulling to force pinion up to flywheel..

Some folks might put grease on that spring.----And that is a mistake.

Take it apart and adjust it. Your spring pinion is bouncing all over the place.

If you had a 93 or newer you would never have this problem.

Got the spring pinion put back into place. Easy fix. Next thing is my recoil is sticking and not allowing the rope to return freely. Does this mean probably needs a good cleaning?
