Well, I figure the holidays are the most stressful, so I figure I'd start a topic on your rants (stuff that just plain makes you climb the wall!)<br /><br />Ok here's some of my rants that are at or near the top of my lsit:<br /><br />Cellular phones:<br />Yes, I've griped about them before. This is one piece of technology the world can live without (in cars anyways) They should OUTLAW them in all vehicles and states.<br /><br />The word 'statistic'<br />I was raised to believe we are all created equal and UNIQUE. The word 'statistic' categorizes us and NOT as a unique individual.<br /><br />Deadbeat MOMS.<br />You certainly don't hear this much do you?<br />It's always deadbeat dads. I was a single father for many years raising my daughters. You think I ever got child support? You think she ever went to jail for not paying?<br /><br />Large soda cups:<br />You ever think of all the engineering that went into a large soda cup (Big Gulp for example)<br />You'd think they would design the large end of the cup at the BOTTOM and not the top? <br />Get a clue? You think it wouldn't spill as easily?<br /><br />More to come... I can't think right now...<br /><br />C'mon let's hear them!<br /><br />H.

It's no different than talking with a passenger. I have to, I get a lot of "windshield time".<br /><br />The "deadbeat moms", sparked my interest. I heard a quote today-" man has no reason for excuse, seeing what women do to each other".<br /><br />Boy, Homerr, you threw another good live one "over the wall".<br /><br />Let's all be "civil".

I can't stand whoever devised the method of how fast food employees hand your change back to you out the window.It takes them two hands to initiate this ballancing act that they then expect you to negotiate with one hand bent at a 45degree angle while reaching up two feet.The bills are ALWAYS handed to me on the bottom of a pile of coins that many times ends up either in my lap or on the pavement at the drivethrough.

How about employers that promote from within because they are too cheap to pay what it would take to hire a bonafide qualified technician to do the job.<br /><br />Homerr. I'd like to see a cup like you described.<br />But I'd REALLY like to meet the engineer that can figure a way to cheaply produce it out paper, plastic, or styrofoam. It has to come out of a mold or form somehow. And just how would you stack 50 of them in package that is only 30" high?? I know, I'm taking all the fun out of it. Sorry.

Only got time to "weigh in" on the cell phone issue, or I'll be late for work. <br /><br />People that drive worse when they use a cell phone can't walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. It's a coordination issue more than anything else.<br /><br /> I like eating nachos, you know, the kind you dip. I guarantee that eating nachos while driving is far worse than talking on a cell phone. To my knowledge, the 7-11 flunkie doesn't get on the horn to Johnny Law when I leave - "Yeah officer, that darn Moose just got a load of nachos with peppers and all and got in his pickup and drove westbound... he looked under the influence of junkfood and is armed with a super big gulp". (by the way, their cups are designed that way to fit in the cupholder IN YOUR CAR)<br /><br />Most people who PROTEST cell phones in cars either have coordination issues themselves, can't afford one, or "don't got no use for such contraptions".<br /><br /> I use a hands-free thingy at times, but only while I'm eating... hate getting cheese sauce or ketchup, etc. in the keypad. <br /><br />Just the other day, I saw a Nebraska State Patrolman. He's a local guy and I've known him for years. He was steering with the hand that was holding his cup of coffee, and was shoving his face with Danish with the other hand... I waved at him, as usual, and he raised his cup to me in recognition, crumbs in both sides of his mouth. Is this an unsafe practice? Probably for most. Can we arrest him for it? No way. I've heard of some bogus law called "distracted driving"... wouldn't need much of a lawyer to have that one thrown out of a court room. Distracted driving is an opinion of the accuser... tough to prosecute on an opinion.<br /><br />More things than I can count cause accidents... can we make them all illegal? Long live the crispy golden tortilla!!!

This holiday season won't be so merry around here this year. Those dang on Pee Tests. Once was able to smoke some of that wacky stuff once in awhile. No big problem....except now. Had to go through drug and alcohol rehab for a year.<br /><br />Here is some facts on their tests. Cocaine, Meth, PCP, Herion and alcohol will leave your system usually within a 48 hour period resulting in a negative result. Pot however stays there for about a month. It does not exactly tell your boss if you are under the influence of it or not.<br /><br />I feel that these tests are unconsitutional because you are incriminating yourself. Violation of the 5th. These tests don't show that the person is a thief, child molester, murder and any other criminal. With less adults buying the stuff due to these tests, the price is down where guess who can afford it? The teenagers! Pot use is way up among that age group. Wonder why? Cure that problem, lets do drug screens in ALL the schools.<br /><br />Pot is starting to prove its worth in the medical field with less side affects than other chemical base medicines. Government propaganda has brainwashed so many Americans that is so bad. <br /><br />I'm not saying that it is okay to smoke it, but there should be a test to show when the person is under the influence, not that he has it in his system. That alone could cause people to do the other more dangerous drugs that don't show up days later.<br /><br />What a person does in his house should be his business if it is not causing harm to those around him in his house.<br /><br />If Clinton lied about the BJ in his office, then he lied about inhaling!<br /><br />I predict in the future that at busy intersections, ramps to highways, and other dangerous areas on the road, Cell phone jammers will be used. Would be nice to have them now in some of the places.

Cell phones - I'm just as aggravated at lack of "cell phone manners". Watched a lady get checked out at walmart, whole time she was on the cell phone. If I was the cashier I would have just stood there until she got off the phone. Or, how about a group of people sitting around a table at a restruant and 1/2 of them are talking on cell phones. Could they be talking to each other? Cell phones are a great technology but, as a society, we need to develop some acceptable uses.<br /><br />Soft Drink sizes - best cokes come in the 6-1/2 oz bottles. Why do we need to buy a 24oz drink. Half of it gets hot and poured out.<br /><br />Sitting on steps - I work at a 2yr college. Kids use the steps for chairs and people can't walk by. Women in my dept keep thinking about "accidently" konking them in the head with their purses.

Yes, I know they are designed that way for your car. My 2001 Ranger has them.<br />BUT do they ever stay in the holders? <br /><br />I mean COME ON! You see some of these 44 oz. cups? GREAT big at the top, and a tiny little bottom that will fit in those stupid little cup holders.<br />Yes, they would be a problem with dispensing and such. I know they are designed that way for manufacture. <br />Try to take a corner while eating that danish, talking on the phone, and holding that cup from rolling onto the floorboard!<br /><br />LOL!<br /><br />Who knows..maybe I'm on to something.... <br />Homer's 60 mph no-tip-cup..Hmmmm.<br /><br />Yes, some people just shouldn't own the cell phone. I have a perfect driving record (and always have)and I've never been in a wreck. It seems every time I go into town on a busy day, I avoid at least 2 near misses because the moron isn't paying attention to what he's doing cause he's on his phone.<br />Then there's the idiot that drives half the speed limit while talking...<br /><br />Yes, it's a rant, but I've already posted it..No need to eloborate...<br /><br />Keep 'em going folks!<br /><br />H.

There are a lot of things this ol fart does'nt like.<br />With all these well educated people, and KIDS out here, the one thing that gripes me the most is that they can not SPELL<br />Now, these cell phones are alright, but where I live you can not get out on them anyway, so what's the use of having one.<br />Most of the time, they are used by people, that are either, cheating on their spouse, or, doing somethng illegal.<br />That's why I don't have one.<br />I don't have a spouse, and I sure don't do anything illegal, heck, I don't do anything period.

My rant has to do with boating.<br /><br />WHY THE FREAKIN *(&%&^$&^ DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE 30 MINUTES TO TAKE BOAT OFF THE TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br /><br />What the hell could take you so long. Back the thing up, lower the motor, start it, and drive off. Tie boat off, get out of boat, get in truck , and pull it out of the way (that is if you dont have a driver/helper).<br /><br />Load the boat up full of your junk before you back it into the water. IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br /><br />Ok, Im better now.<br /><br />Just dont get me started about tailgaiting idiots, idiots that wont let you merge into their land when yours is ending, or idiots driving 45 MPH in the left lane!!!!!<br /><br />Ken

here is one that absolutely drove me mad....<br /><br />I am fishing a rock pile for specs last sunday afternoon, baitfish running down the side getting hammered by reds/specks....in comes some #$%@#% that pulled up in his 39' center console with THREE yamaha 4 strokes.... he proceeds to pull up next to me(less than 15 yrds away) and throw his cast net right where i am fishing ..... what an #WQ&#*$# !!! so much for my fishing. he could have gone anywhere down the rock pile as it is probably 1/2 mile long barrier.

All of the above ring my bell, too. Another favorite is when the person in front of you at the bank drive-through pulls up to the window and asks for a pen because they don't have any of their papers filled out yet. I suggested to a friend who is a bank manager that they should give hand grenades to the tellers to toss in the car in these situations.

Speaking of banks. What about the people at ATM's that have not a clue what they are doing.<br /><br />Or, you see the guy that is doing six months worth of banking at an ATM. You know, balancing the checkbook, applying for a mortgage and maybe even getting some cash-duh!

Here's another "driving" one...Someone waiting to pull out of a parking lot onto a busy road but not watching as car after car try to let them out. They just sit there and stare into space.
