Can someone explain what these are for, how they work and why they're needed? I quess one would answer the other but...i'm just trying to figure out the exact reason for this setup and if it may be the cause of my occasional hard starts and rough idle. Thanks in advance.

-Jersey

THE BLEED SYSTEM IS TO HELP RECIRCULATE THE PUDDLED FUEL THE GATHERS AT THE REED BLOCKS AND PUTS IT BACK INTO THE CYLINDERS TO BE BURNED THE WAY YOU CHECK THE CHECK VALVES IS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRAW AIR BUT NOT BLOW AIR THROUGH VALVES. THERE ARE LITTLE RESTRICTORS YOU CAN ADD TO LINES TO HELP SLOW DOWN THE FLOW TO THE CYLINDERS THE PART # 66517 MERCURY PART # THEY INSTALL AT THE CYLINDER SIDE OF MOTOR PUSH DOWN HOSE ABOUT ONE INCH FROM BLOCK NIPPLE
