I have a chance to buy a honda model 100 4-stroke. Was told is a 9.9hp. Is that right. About what year or range of years would this be. Is this a good model or something to stay away from. Would someone want to give a range of values for something like this? I know that is a loaded question but some help please. Motor turns over and looks very clean. Was told it run fine 1 year age. Ant help would be great. Thanks

At least your know this a is a loaded question. It is hard to give any type of answer with the information provided. Sr# would maybe help some to look it up. Could be worth $10 or $1,000, or more. Put it in a barrel of water or on hose bib and run it for a awhile. It is a 4 stroke, so only straight gas needed.

I've got the same motor..but mine is a 1983 model. The motor is excellent if properly maintained! If I were to sell mine, I would hope to get over $500. Check ebay and see what they're going for...remember to add the shipping into the sale price to get a comparison.

Well, I took a chance, it's only money. Bought the Honda 100 model B100S S/N E3358778. I have no idea were to look for year or diagram of parts for this motor. Any help would be great. Thanks. By the way this was on a auction. Payed $170. Came with original tank that has what looks like a tank on the side of the gas tank that says oil. What is that for?

I think the original tank had a tool kit that mounted to the side. I did not get that when I bought mine used. Oil????

You are right Mas it is a tool kit. It also has a bottle with oil in it. That is were I got the idea, because someone put a little sticker that has OIL on the out side. All in good condition, neat idea. Any help on year of motor, I can't find anything any place. Any tips or advice would be great also, as this is a whole new ballgame to me. Thanks

I think that is in the mid '80's but you're missing some of the serial # to narrow it down further...Honda serials are 4 letters and 7 numbers
