Very interesting. I would think that the balance would be horrible. The Viking (or <br />V-king) is not very long and light in the nose anyway. Maybe one of the Vegas models would work better. With a sterndrive in the Viking, the motor would have to be mounted "thru the roof" to get the outdrive to the correct x dimention for a step pad bottom design. The step would also pose problems for mounting a surface drive. Surface drives work really well on straight or rocker bottom designs. Besides either the V-King or Viking are rockets with any decent 150 HP outboard. Good luck!
