Gday guys, saturday Im checking out a boat with my brother too buy it is a 19ft half cab with the Volvo Penta AQ115 and 100 leg, to be honest we both have limited knowledge about what to look for when purchasing an inboard boat and Im wondering if any of you guys can maybe give me a list of everything to look for on these engines such as there flaws and general things to look for. We will be going for A on water test Saturday.<br /><br />The motor was apparently "rebuilt" in 2003 and had a new heatexchanger and I beleive one ring replaced on a piston Which I find very odd anyway my Bro is keen on this boat but we dont want to buy a lemon so any help on what to look for with these motors would be appreciated.<br /><br />Cheers.
but i orignially thought it was the 115. i dont know aboutt he 100 leg but i here they are old old. i have the 270. mines a 19ft walkaround close tow hat you are describing. i like the boat too it out twice before i blew the head gasket and now have to order another. the gasekt was old though so i understand. the good thing is my enigne is easy to get to so easy to work on. i think it would be good just have it all checked out.
