Re: pump to drain gas.

I’ve seen a pump like that in marine store. But it is used to pump oil out of the engine. There is a hose that goes down through dip stick and is attached to the pump that is powered by a drill.
I’m sure you’re aware of the fact that gas fumes are highly flammable and a minor spark could ignite the fumes. Be carefully.

I would use a gas pump hose that you could find in any auto part store. It looks like a hose with a hand pump on one end.

Good luck :)

Re: pump to drain gas.

I attached a outboard hose with primer bulb, ran hose out from transom plug hole into a can (or more than a can) primed bulb 3 or 4 times to get gas, then let it alone, it filled up 2 6 gallons cans in 1/2 hour.

Be sure gas can is lower than bottom of your boat or it won't syphon well.

I am very scared of using pumps for gas, unless they are approved for it, I've seen what could happen, trust me don't take it lightlty.

IKES...GAZAD..!!!!.be careful...an electric drill attached to a centrifugal pump produces sparks and will.............blow you up!! Use the right stuff here...a siphon with primer bulb. No...don't suck on a hose to start the siphon, either.

Do what the pro's do...buy a generic electric fuel pump from your local auto store. Wire it up to the boat's battery, but use enough length as to not have the pump next to the battery. Pump and go.

writing from the hospital! kidding. it worked fine. i used a cordless. its sealed.did a great job. 15 gals in 25 mins.i hope that was the problem with the boat running bad. it looked a little browner than reg gas. the thing is it would run great for a while and then backfire
and lose power. we will see, i replaced the old gas hose also. man it was as hard as a rock, had some cracks in it too! boats are so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks guys

So what did you do with the old gas? I need to pump about 10 gallons out of mine.
