Hi, I am interested in a 1988 26' Prowler power boat that has a 5.7L, 350 Magnum Merc with an Alpha One drive.The boat is currently on the hard.<br />I have a couple of concerns:<br />(a)Cooper Yachts may have been skimping on materials in the late 80's on their sail boats. If this was the case, is there a potential problem with the lay-up on the Prowler.<br />(b) What should this boat cruise at?. I am getting conflicting information. Displacement is said to be anywhere from 5750 lbs to 6500 lbs (dry weight?)If so, could this boat be underpowered and having to work too hard?.
