Prop will not spin

I have a 1992 evinrude 150 with hot foot. When you put the boat in gear it will idle around but when you press the accelerator it just revs up the motor. The boat will not take off. I brought the boat home, hooked it to water hose, started motor, put in gear and when you give it gas it spins. Seems it just wont spin under pressure. Thanks for your time and help!

You have what is called a "spun hub". That means the bond between the rubber that separates the blade area of the prop and the hub has broken. That can be repaired by a prop shop. You cannot do it yourself.
