Prop makes clanking noise when put in gear.

Mercrusier Alfa 1 gen 2. Reistalled lower end and attached shift cable. Prop seems to be running correctly in all grears. But make a clanking noise briefly when shifting out of nutual to other gears.
I think I remember it doing this before but want to check if this is normal.

I hope you aren't "Easing" it into gear. What is the Idle Speed, in gear and in neutral?

High. You’ll certainly notice such a thing on the trailer. If you’re used to hearing it in the water usually. Very normal for a bit of a clunk out the water. Within reason obviously
