I have a 1990 sunbird stringer with the omc cobra 2.3. Boat runs great, compression is good and planes out great with about half the 1000 lbs capacity in passengers, but any more and it is slow to plane or buries the stern when taking off unless riders move to the bow seats. It has the stock 3 blade 13.25 inch 17 pitch prop on it and I'm wondering if a 4 blade of another pitch would help? Don't mind loosing some speed if necessary but seems if I can get more stern lift and higher rpm out of the hole it will help me alot. WOT is around 4200 rpm loaded.

Hi. I’m of the thinking there isn’t really such a thing as a stock or factory prop for a boat. Should be propped to the user’s needs and requirements. Sometimes even location.
