Has anyone ever removed gas tanks from 2950? These are shoehorned along with motors into this boat. They are 20 years old and sealed into foam. I fear that they need a full inspection, besides I cannot easily access outside of either motor for maintence. I can cut top of deck and pull them up or I can cut out bulk head next to fish box (mid ship) and try to slide out clock and counter clock wize. Ether way seems daunting! This boat's design lacks much as it is incredibly rear end heavy. Each 100 gal tank is on the outside and about 6" from stern. Tanks lie stern towards bow. Busting the foam seal will also be a problem, even with saws-all. I plan on shorting the tanks to 50 gal each and placing auxerilly tanks below or in walk around channel (if needed). Since, Uncle Sugar has all but destroyed Red Snapper fishing in federal waters, except for 9 days a year, there is no sense making all night fishing trips and economizing on fuel. I just don't need 200 galos and the corresponding weight at the rear end of boat. In Floirda, we are restricted to just two Red Snappers per/person per/day and only have 9 days this year. However, commercial corporations can rape our federal waters, as long as they keep the kickbacks going to the proper crook in DC.
