primer solenoid

hi i have a 84 johnson 70 hp. i pulled the 2 lines off of the solenoid and pushed the key and turned it. it was clicking back there but no gas. so i pump the primer bulb back up and turned the red lever boom gas came out both lines. so i checked i have power to the solenoid and 4 ohms on the purple white wire. so is this bad or not. should i take it apart and clean it check plunger. or replace it. thank you so much

you can get a rebuild kit or get a used one ,maybe ebay or a salvage yard

Those kits work fine. If you want to get the OE kit from your BRP/Evinrude dealer, order 0175158 and 0437228. If you want the injector hose to use the upgraded schrader valve, it's part #0763644.
