Do all metal pressure tanks have the little primmer button or did they come without? The reason I ask is because I have a tank with the fitting looks like it would use the dual line.

Pics below are pics I found .The 1st tank is in question.

Thanks

Bright orange tank on left is a "modern" style single line tank. The third pin (below the pointed pin) on the fitting is an alignment pin to prevent you from plugging the hose connector on backwards.

Re: pressure fuel tank ?

I hope riding this post with a new question on tanks is ok. I have the Bright orange tank and am looking for a (venting) cap for it. The cost seems to be close to the cost of a new Plastic tank.
Is there a cheaper way of get a (venting) cap for the Orange tank I have?

Thks,

If you have that style tank, you do not need a vented cap. The vent is incorporated into the fuel fitting. That's what those tiny pins do. When you plug the connector to the tank, the pins get pressed in and allow fuel to flow and air to enter the tank.

Re: pressure fuel tank ?

I was asking because I drove up to the lake on a warm day and when I connected (both) ends of the fuel lines they leaked fuel from (both) ends.
The hose and fittings are correct and are new. I am wondering should I have had the fuel line already primed and connected prior to the drive?

Thks again,

If your hose is leaking from both ends, then something is wrong with the connectors. Are you sure they're correct connectors? Some of the newer Merc connectors look similar but are actually quite different...

Re: pressure fuel tank ?

The package said "Johnson/Evinrude" and was purchased from bi-mart so who knows. They do seem loose somewhat however I thought maybe the ride (shook up) the contents like that of a pop can. Well what can you expect for $20 these days.

I'll see what the boat shop says.

Thks for your input and if you think of anything else..............drop me a line.

avoid those aftermarket connectors!! they will cause you more grief than spending the extra $$ on genuine omc connectors will. jmo

Well you'll not have to tell me that a (3rd) time. I'll look into what I should have got.
