I am resurrecting an old marathon boat and am having trouble with power trim
The tilt works but the trim does not. There is no trim gauge so trim switches are not used
The tilt goes up and down as far as the trim but no further, I changed trim motors and still no luck.
What should I be be looking at?
This is a mercruiser setup

Ayuh,...... It would help if We could see what yer lookin' at,.....

Yer description covers a BaZillion possibilities,.....

Basically, at the pump, Red is Power, Green grass is Down, 'n Blue sky is Up,.....

Any double throw switch wired as such will run the trim pump from anywhere in the boat,......

Just because it doesn't have a trim gauge doesn't mean it doesn't use a trim switch. The sensor and switch are 2 different parts.

I have a question about power trim FLUIDS. I have a 2000 Bayliner Capri 4.3 Alpha One Mercrusier. Where is the reservoir for the fluid? Is there one ??
You should open up your own thread for your question but the reservoir is on the pump.

The outdrive will raise all the way using the tilt button, but when I lower it ,it stops where the trim should take over, in other words it is trimmed right up.. It does not trim down to the bottom, the down switch works as far as the out drive is trimmed all the way up and no farther.

The trim doesn't take over at any point. The tilt buttons are always active and even over ride the trim switch. There is no limit on down for the trim or tilt button, only up for the trim button.

Motors??? more than one. The motor will raise the drive all the way and will lower it all the way, correct?

The motor will raise it all the way. But does not lower it all the way, only as far as the trim is allowed to go up.

So you mean it goes from full up(trailer ) and only goes down to where the trim up limit is?

How do you check to see if you have a faulty trim cylinder?
