Power head bolt???

I removed one of my power head bolts (1986 225hp 2 strke evinrude v6) to remove an old z bracket from a temp sender....When i took the bolt out a small item...i think it was a spring..fell off the end of the bolt and went in the water....what did i loose and is it imporatnt

z bracket? any pictures of what your looking at. i may have the part from a scrapped 94' 200

Sounds like a heli-coil. Check the threads where the bolt came out of.

Boobie already steered you in the right direction, either a heli-coil, or worse yet, the threads themselves.
