I have recently bought a 24 foot pontoon the thing I don't like about it is the trailer the trailer the boat came on is a yacht club single axle trailer I would just like to make it a tandem axle trailer was looking today and the axle under the trailer now is just u bolted on with a piece of angle iron is there a kit that I can buy that I could just buy another axle with that plate and fender and everything where I could just throw it up there and bolt it up thanks in advance

You would need to add an equalizer between the two springs, otherwise the load won't be supported evenly between the two axles. That's not a huge issue. Can you show us a picture of what you have now?

There are a fair number of tandem axle pontoon trailers that do not have an equalizer. I currently own one right now actually, they are generally meant for short hauls and are almost always scissor trailers with the tires inside the tubes. Having a level hitch is critical, and going over the threshold of the ramp is best done SLOWLY, as you are loading all the weight onto one axle/tire pair for a short time.

He says the axle is ubolted to frame. That would make it either a torsion axle like most modern trailers, or no suspension. My dads pontoon trailer is dual torsion axles.

Typically the whole suspension including springs is u-bolted to the trailer. The whole assemby is welded up to a u-channel and that is what gets u-bolted to the frame so it can be slid fore and aft to adjust tongue weight.
