Re: Polar Boats
I've got a Polar 2010 CC Bay Boat and love it. I mostly fish fresh water with it but have had it on the ocean a handful of times and never thought it's performance to be compromised.

I've got it rigged with a Yamaha F150 (four stroke) which sips gas and works great for trolling on big water. It tops out at about 45mph and almost 50mph on smooth salt water. The dealer indicates I can probably get another 3-5mph out of a performance prop.

Also have a bow mounted Minn Kota Riptide which is very adequate. Most of the striper and walleye tournaments I fish are at night so I wanted something I can fish from all sides with good stability. The CC Bay Boat fit the bill and also works well to pull the kids around the lake on a tube.

The only problem which I knew out of the gate is that it is heavy. Boat, motor, fuel, gear, and trailer go about 5000 lbs. I don't think you will be disappointed with a Polar for the $$.

Here's the picture of my boat and tow vehicle:
