I changed my plugs on my 650 merc 65hp from some autolight 303 to some ngk's b7s. The first run on the plugs i noticed that i lost power and it wouldn't reach wot untile it started to plane then the rpm's came up. I haven't had the problem untile then. I gaped the plugs to .025. i checked the gap on the old ones that were in the boat when i got it and they were about .030 When i pulled the plugs all four were wet and had some slime on them. i have had they boat out a few times now and have all ways looked at the plugs after and never seen that slime. anybody know what is going on. the plugs # cross over between each other.

Re: plugs

What is the year of your 650 and does it have CD ign? You should never cross referance plug without looking them up, if you start with the wrong plugs you end with the wrong plugs so you don't gain much.
