I have a 1978 mercury 150 with a mencontrol. It runs great, but it takes a long time to speed up 1-2 minutes not pulling anything, once up to speed it cruises along great. We have tried every different position with the trim but there is little difference. Even after getting up to full speed & slowing down it takes a long time to get to full speed again. On the throttle lever the top 5" does not do much only the bottom 1". Does this just need to be adjusted & if so how? The manuel does not say much about adjusting the throttle etc, or is there something else wrong?
