You can't delete it, that is only something a moderator can do. You can edit your message to say nothing or only a few ... to make it empty, but that's it.
Then a moderator, like me, can come along and either delete it, leave it, or close it so it can't be posted to again.
Now, every one knows the process of deleting a post.
