My question is I have a 1969 14' Glastron W/92 40hp Yamaha 10 3/8 X 13 Prop. I recently purchased a 85 50HP Yamaha and it had a 15P prop, But the prop the guy had on it was a mercury prop. I like to pull tubes and my wife skiing so what pitch prop would be a good all around prop. I only want to buy one prop.Should I go with a 14 or 15 pitch, with good hole shot and top speed. With the 40HP I could go 34 MPH with just me in it, I weigh 230 LBS. I have no tach. Any suggestions would be Great.

Re: picking the right prop.

You can't get good hole shot AND good top speed. One or the other. I'd go with the 14 for good pulling of a skier.
