Overnight Trip Ideas for Newbies in Louisiana

Hello All!

My husband and I recently purchased a 25 ft boat and would like to take it out for our first ever overnight boating trip. Any suggestions/tips on good places to go for beginners in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans, LA area would be appreciated!

Is this a cruiser? Is it on a trailer? If so you could put in at a ramp about 30 miles or so away from a marina or publick dock and spend the night there.
