Now a new problem..after getting the boat out of the water to check the drive for water in lube... and changing fluid today, i just launched the boat and ran out to the end of the canal, and noticed the temp. up to 220 and turned right around and went back to my slip. Just then it started running rough and ready to stall. Made it back and temp was gone back down to 180.. but still running really rough..let it sit for a bit and tried again, starts up fine... just runs like ***.. what now? did the seaweed at the launch ramp have something to do with this problem??? i am so mad that i cant even get to run the boat today >> HELP PLEASE (checked fuel filter for water), none-- emptied into jar and re-installed.

Re: OVERHEAT> Runs Rough> HELP

could the overheating have caused the plugs to foul out??? or could the clogged inlet (water pump or impellor cause the eng to run so rough??

You have this same question tacked on to 2 other threads and have started 2 of your own.
Quit yelling help and spreading this thing over so many posts that people can't keep up with it.
Did you even open the engine cover and look at the engine after the problem started?

yes Don, i did look at the engine.. looks the same as it did before, nothing different, when it was happening , the miss and overheat , i had my wife hold the Engine cover open -- all i noticed was some blow by from the valve cover breather that attaches to the flame arrestor. smoked a little in this area... (oil blow by i suppose you would call it????

THink it could be exhaust blockage (seaweed) causing the rough engine 000

Re: OVERHEAT> Runs Rough> HELP

have you done a compression and leakdown test yet,? your going to need the results of these tests.overheating your engine may or may not have blown a head or a head gasket.its a logical place to start----thats why Don S sugested it.let us know what ya come up with.

Were you on the muffs or on the water. If you were on the muffs the hose pressure will bypass the impellar, so you can't assume this. If on the water idling, ok.
