I came across a photo of an outboard on a portable stand.
Unfortunately, only part of the stand is visible in the photo.
It looks very handy.

Have any of you seen a similar stand, and do you know where I could see a photo of the entire stand?

It isn't a design I'd want. Motor is supported by lower shrouds which are not metal pieces. Center of gravity is away from the stand which requires the strap around the mid section. The motor should rest on the transom bracket..

Thanks guys.

I'm not really looking to get one of these, but am curious enough to want to check it out.

Looks like it would be great for removing and installing larger motors, where a hoist is not available.

Silvertip, I agree, not a good way to support the motor.

I guess I didn't look close enough to realize it was also used to remove a motor. Never-the-less, an engine hoist and the proper lifting eye is a far safer way to handle the engine.

Long as this post is up,these are NOT for a boat owner, but for shop use.Cost is prohibitive.

But for a marine dealer they work well.I'd guess the Merc in the original post has plastic lower motor cowls as well.
Once you lift the motor off the boat or rack, the Motor-toter tilts back and you can safely roll it where you want, because of the pnematic tire setup. And for rack storage (of motors) you can stack them.

Think the company will hire me yet ??

Probably not.I don't even have one now.But for many applications, they are great.

DHP

Look at Specialtymotorsmfg.com these also pull drives, and lift motors from the flywheel.
