outboard motor problems

i have an older mercury motor that was starting hard but running okay at the start of the day and then dogging out. i replaced four spark plugs and the gas line. Work fine for the first hour or so then started dogging out again. what could be wrong?<br /><br />------------------

What do the spark plugs look like after it runs and stops? Does it have the correct plugs/<br /><br />------------------<br /><br />david
