I blew the fuse just after the solenoid. It is a 30amp AGA fuse. I cant find anyone who has them. I have tried marine stores and marine engine stores. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a few.

Re: outboard fuses

Since you didn't tell us what you have, if it is a Johnson or an Evinrude, it should be an AGA 20 amp, not a 30.

Re: outboard fuses

It is an 86 Evinrude XP200. The fuse I took out was a 30 amp. Should it be a 20amp?

Yes, it should be a 20 amp fuse. Look closely around the boat, engine, and underdash wiring for the cause of the short. Popping a 30 amp fuse means you have a problem.

Re: outboard fuses

I have already found the cause of the short. It was a connection within the throttle housing on the console that had vibrated off. I will put in the correct 20 amp fuse.

Thanks for the help.
