I am interested in moving up to a newer, bigger boat. My starter boat is an 85 Bayliner 1900 cuddy with a 125 Farce outboard.

I need something that holds more people and won't rot out like the balsa wood built Bayliner. I am looking at a Sylvan 2030 spaceship at a local dealer. Its a new 2000 boat that has never been titled. They want 23,000 for it with a trailer. It has a bimini top and 4.3 v6.

Wondering about usability as a family boat for 12-15 times during the summer on inland lakes and rivers. It will never even see Lake Michigan. It will spend most of its time on the trailer in my driveway. How do the Sylvans hold up? Can I expect to be able to rely on this boat providing it is stored and maintained properly? As far as being better or worse then other mid-ranged brands. Can I expect that with 8 people on board I can pull a tube at 15 MPH?
