I have 1/2 tank about 10 gallons of oil/gas mixed fuel that has been sitting since november. What can be done for gas/oil mix fuel that has not been stabilized over winter. Is there an additive that can be had that can renew the fuel left in the tank? If so what it it called. I hear that gum and varnish can accumulate in the system.

Put some Berrymans B12 in the fuel..You can get it at Walmart. Iv used it for years and it works great. Top off your tank with fresh fuel and dont worry.

Some people on this board dissagree with additives in the fuel...I know many people that use the stuff every year for many years with no problems.

I'd siphone it out and start anew using Stabil gas stabilizer with every fillup. You may already have varnish built up in the fuel that was in the float bowl(s) so no matter what you put in the rest of the old fuel , it won't help a clogged jet or stuck float. Ps- an old primer from your boat with line attached works well as a siphone devise. Good luck and may JAWS's brother chomp your hook!

I don't think it's going to be a problem, I took my boat out the other day after it sat for a year, there was approx 35 gallons of old fuel in it, it did have stabil in it. So I just topped the tank with some fresh gas and the boat ran fine for 50 miles anyway I'll top it again befor i use it

Hey Guys, Thanks for the responses, I had heard there was an additive you could add to old gas that would renew the fuel, disolve the varnish etc. The Berrymans sounds likely, place to start. If that fails I will "go in" and clean the carbs and do the syphon thing. I heard about this fuel restorer from an RV owner. Got him out of a pinch before. Said it was restore or something like that. I could install an inline filter just to be safe, until I get the varnish question resolved. Nothing like fooling around in boats. Fishboy ;)
