old finishes

I receiently aquired an 1989 SeaRay 200 ski boat.<br />The finish overall is pretty good but I want the red color on the sides to be as bright as under the bow. What is the trick to get rid of the old dull finish? What products work good? I have tried some stuff called starbrite with teflon with no luck.

These coloured parts are really selfaddhesive tape.<br /><br />Try in a not too visible spot to apply color-restorer or mild rubbing. <br /><br />It's plain fade and you'll have to remove a little of the faded material to get to the brighter color.
