old cable pulley steering...newer motor

Untill I can come up with a way to put a new steering system on my old grady I need to know how to connet to my 92 Johnson 88hp

is there an adapter or something that attaches to the tongue on the front of the motor?

I just drilled holes in the front of the handle to attach the metal peice on my steering cable. but Hey thats just me
