Re: Oil Additive

Hey, Cruiser. This one can be as much fun as the octane debate. JB's opinion is that they are a waste of bux. Every test done by a disinterested party that I have read on any of them found no benefit.

Re: Oil Additive

regular oil of proper viscosity is used by 90% of boat/car engines..with perfectly acceptable results....why screw with a good thing? Ya know, refineries have been makin this stuff for over 100 years...they have gotten pretty good at it.

Re: Oil Additive

I can say this:

TFTE (Teflon) is NOT designed to be used in an internal combustion engine. Heated under pressure, the molecules begin to clump and stick together, increasing the friction coefficient instead of lowering it. I can't speak to the other additives (prolong, duralube, etc.) but I wouldn't use any product that contains any form of TFTE.

Just my $.02
