Octane content

I have noticed a consistant recommendation, for 2 stroke engines, of good oil and 87 octane gas. The oil is a given but I was wondering if a higher octane might make a difference. Such as better low rpm running, faster hole shots, etc....<br /><br />Any evidence? or opinions

Read the thread that ended May 13th "Correct Octane". Get a cup of coffee, it is a long one, some great information, but you will likely still have to make your own decision.<br />But it will surely be an informed one, if not a confused one.<br /><br />
