A fishing friend of mine says this Really works Great...mix of 1/3 simply green, 1/3 starbright deck cleaner, 1/3 bleach - put it in a plastic spray bottle - squirt it on, brush it with a soft bristle brush and wait 5 min - rinse it off and it'll be clean and white-- follow up with woody wax using a SOFT brush - done !

Hey Scott, I am actually talking about this product http://www.amazon.com/Aurora-Sure-S...UTF8&qid=1442367988&sr=8-5&keywords=Sure+step

It is a buffing compound to - allegedly - protect the non skid area from dirt and UV without making it slippery. They have a cleaner also but the gallon of it is $330.00

I just wanted to check and see if we are being taking for a ride simply because we are boat owners or this product is actually worth it. WoodOnGlass introduced me to TSP few years ago and I have been using it since with great results specially when I use it right so I have no interest in the cleaner. But this buffing compound for the non skid area is what I am wondering about.

Here is a video of what this company claim their product can do

$330 buys nearly a whole pickup truck load of Dawn dish detergent.

Marykate non-skid deck cleaner followed up with Woodie Wax.

Follow the woodie wax directions to the T. A couple of teaspoons will do a 23' boat

Yeah, TSP works Great too!!! But this Cat Fisherman Friend that get's Blood N' Guts all over his boat all the time says this formula works really good sooooo, I thought I'd post it and let you give it a go. He Made his own anti skid gelcoat surface on his center console boat and he says it's a pretty ROUGH surface and he says this formula keeps it clean and shiny!!!! He says he sprays it on and uses a broom and hose to wash her down. I can't speak from experience just stating what I'm being told!!!!:D

It is great to have alternatives. Thanks for sharing. Timing couldn't be better though; I was under the weather since my last fishing trip and I did not clean my boat yet. I will try this formula and report back. I will also try the woody wax on the non skid areas and see how it goes. Thanks again

For $330, i can start a cleaning business :D Seriously, what could possibly be in it so it cost that much a gallon?! Anyway,, good for them if they can sell it for this price.

Thanks for the tip. I tried to find directions yesterday but couldn't. The wax is sold on Amazon in a spray bottle so I thought it will be sprayed as is from the bottle. I will read the instructions carefully once it arrives.

Im guessing water, some sort of dye, a common detergent and a proprietary label.

I use a mixture of bleach and dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. I hose off the non-skid areas of my bow and swim platform. let sit for a minut or three, then fire up the 1500 psi pressure washer (or a scrub brush)

My method also, some times in a 5 gallon bucket for big jobs.

lets just say more isn't better.

A couple of squirts mixed with water goes a long, long way.
