Leaving Sun. for Jacksonville and will be there 5 weeks for school. Is there anywhere to fish from shore where a license is not required? Will need to kill some time during the weekend. Thanks

Taz

Not 100% sure but to my knowledge Floridia requires a fishing license for everyone over a certian age regardless of where you fish. This does not mean that there is not such a place but I doubt it.

Peterfishbuster, Thanks for the reply. I figured it to be a long shot. After I had time to stop and surf the web I seen that the nonresident license is really not that exspensive so depending on where I can find to fish, I'll buy a license. Thanks again!!

Taz

I wish I could help as to where to go. I know more about the coastal regions south of Jax starting at St. Augustine and going just south of Daytona. I would recomend Matanzas Inlet if you can make a day trip it is just south of St. Augustine on A1A there are also many pull off fishing areas there. all of it is S/W fishing but put a piece of fresh shrimp on say a #2 hook on bottom and see what hits any size rod will do.
In Jacksonville I have talked to a fellow that fishes a management lake that sounds like it is within the city limits. It has bass and catfish by the hundreds in it but I have not talked to the guy in a while and have no clue the name of the place. Perhaps you can do a search for a place like it on the web.

Thanks again peterfishbuster, I'll check around when I get down there. Sitting on a bank with a pole in my hand sounds alot better than sitting around a hotel room ;) .

Taz
