no start

I took my new money pit out for a ride and it stalled. i ck'd it out and it had no spark. about three hours later it started up. what do you think it could have been. (coil)

What kind of motor??? My guess is that it overheated and automatically refused to run in self defense (overheat disable). <br /><br />good luck.<br />JB

it is a 3.0<br />merc.<br />but the coolant gauge read about 150 the guy i bought it from said he just had all the gauges ck'd and the were ok.<br />what is the overheat disable? and how would i trouble shoot it if it happens again?<br />I also should mention that i did pull the cap and rotor when it wouldn"t start and wiggled a few things and then it fired up.
