No Power in Reverse

I have a 1989 1660 Procraft with an Evinrude 110 VRO. The motor runs fine but it won't throttle up in reverse. I barely can back it off the trailer. Linkage problem? Any suggestions?

Take the throttle cable off of the the mtr, rotate the prop and put it in reverse. Then push your remote control in full reverse and see how far the cable travels back on the mtr in relation to throttle position. If it doesn't travel much, you may have control box or cable probs.
