Hello everyone, new to the forum, I am currently going to start a resto project on a 1965 Starcraft Jupiter V with a 1985 Force 85. Picked it up for $500cdn and seem to run ok. Seems to have a miss maybe or maybe this is just the way they run. I will try and upload video. Needs a few things and yes I will be doing the telltale upgrade.

I thought at first it my be to heavy but it seems to be inline with the rest of the manufacturers give or take 10-15lbs. Why is there such a bad vibe about Force in the marine crowd?

Nice forum guys. Hope to contribute and use this as my greatest tool!

cheers from Ontario Canada

No problems with the Forces here:)
They are a bit harder on gas than the newer ones.
Easier to work on and still lots of parts everywhere.

Do a compression/spark test.FIRST!!!
Then the rest will be easy!!

From the video, you have a good start. You'll probably sacrifice some time towing "better" engines.

Sounds good on the video. Boffum. Underway, underload may be different. You have a dependable engine and will probably end up towing less dependable, sources of the negative vibe referenced in your original post.
