Just purchased my first boat. It is a ProCraft Stalker s180 it came with a Mariner 150hp. (Not sure the year but the stamp says A114970). The question I have is about the motor and whether to try to rebuild it or just get a replacement. I have never rebuilt a motor and would like to try, but if it will not be worth it I'll have to wait to get that experience. The motor will turn over with the starter, with a compression tester I got "0" compression on cylinder #2 and opened it up and saw the following images (see attachments). Just looking for any advice to what direction I should go in with this project. I will be taking the rest of the motor apart this weekend down to the crankshaft.

Thanks in advance

That actually #1 and its a fairly easy fix. Most likely the idle stabilizer is bad the most common cause of failure of #1 on the 2L motors. Get you a FACTORY manual and a set of inside "mikes" to measures cylinders. Best bet is to bore all 6 cyls .020 oversize, new switchboxes, trash stabilizer, rebuild carbs, fuel pump and impeller

Thank you for the correction. I have the manual on order. Now let me find a good machine shop here in Georgia. I'll take a picture of the crankshaft side when I get it stripped down.
